The number you listed for the 10-5 is the assembly number, which is arbitrary and basically meaningless. The serial number of a Model 10 is found on the bottom of the grip frame. It will be a 6-digit number preceded by a "C" or a "D". Great looking Model 41, 3228 would be a first year gun. Don’t need the serial number to see it’s the first type. Hate to say it but, you will find that the box is not original to that gun. Check for a serial number under the bottom section, written in white pen.
