Pre-Hire List Status question. Hey everyone. I applied to the USPS a couple weeks ago for a PSE mail processing clerk job. I took my in person exam scored an 87 and received an email to take a drug test and consent to the background check. I thought this was kind of weird as I haven't had an interview yet or anything. Pre hire list just means you met the minimum requirements for the position so far. It is the first step. Once you get to selection list or hiring list then you're making progress.
